Measurement scope
Which soil parameters does Agni measure?
Agni currently reports seven parameters: pH, electrical conductivity (EC), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), moisture and temperature. These readings are inputs to decision support; they do not by themselves describe every aspect of soil health.
The seven current readings
- pH: an indicator of soil acidity or alkalinity.
- Electrical conductivity (EC): an indicator related to soluble salts and ionic conductivity.
- Nitrogen (N): one of the three primary macronutrient readings reported by Agni.
- Phosphorus (P): one of the three primary macronutrient readings reported by Agni.
- Potassium (K): one of the three primary macronutrient readings reported by Agni.
- Moisture: the soil-water reading at the time of measurement.
- Temperature: the soil-temperature reading at the time of measurement.
Interpretation limits
A single reading is a snapshot. Sampling position, soil heterogeneity, recent irrigation, weather, crop stage and calibration conditions can affect interpretation. Laboratory testing and qualified agronomic review remain appropriate when decisions require formal or higher-confidence analysis.
